Blind spots are the places where bring nightmares to many experienced drivers. They are also impressed by the safety hazards hidden in the blind spots. Data show that blind sight is an important factor in causing traffic accidents. When you are driving on the road, the greatest danger may be not in front of you, but in the corners that have not been noticed around.  No matter whether you are new driver or experienced driver, during your daily driving, you must be afraid to accidentally hit an unknown object.

The STA79-2 short-range radar is a 77G Hz millimeter wave automotive radar product independently developed by WHST. At the beginning of 2020, we are honored to announce that we release the upgraded version of STA79-2.  Compared with the previous version, the longest detection distance of this product has been increased to 110m, and the distance resolution and angular resolution of the radar have been greatly improved. Therefore, it can detect the target distance, speed and angle in the detection range with high-precision and more accuracy. The detection range is wider and blind area is smaller.

Meanwhile, the upgraded STA79-2 has a small size, so it can be more easily installed on vehicles, even in relatively narrow spaces in vehicles.  If installed on both rear sides of the vehicle, the longitudinal detection areas can cover the B-pillar and the rear of the vehicle, and the lateral detection areas can cover the 2 lanes on both sides to ensure almost 360-degree surrounding environment monitoring.

The upgraded version of STA79-2 short-range radar can realize more security functions due to its higher resolution and more accurate detection capabilities.  The product can simultaneously satisfy the following functions and effectively assist the vehicle safe driving:

LCA (Lane Change Assistant);

DOW (Door Open Warning);

RCTA (Rear Cross Traffic Alert);

RCW (Rear Collision Warning).
